DST – LOCKHEED MARTIN INDIA INNOVATION GROWTH PROGRAMME (IIGP) 2014
The India Innovation Growth Programme is a joint initiative of the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India; Lockheed Martin Corporation; Indo-US Science and Technology Forum, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry; Stanford Graduate School of Business and the IC2 Institute at the University of Texas. The aim of this programme is to accelerate innovative Indian technologies into the global markets. The India Innovation Growth Program is the only program of its kind, because of its focus on teaching using world-class commercialization strategies and the business development assistance provided.
Shri. Madan Mohan Reddy, Managing Director of SunGen Solar Pvt. Ltd. (SSPL) won all the three categories namely:
- Top 30 wherein he receives professional business development assistance from FICCI
- Top 10 wherein he receives professional business development assistance both by FICCI and the IC2 Institute, University of Texas
- Top 10 for the Silicon Valley Course wherein he had been given a week long workshop and training in Stanford Graduate School of Business, Silicon Valley
The awards have been handed over in the presence of eminent personalities : Dr. K. Vijay Raghavan, Secretary-Department of Science and Technology; Dr. Ray O. Johnson, CTO – Lockheed Martin Corporation; H.K.Mittal, Secretary, Technology Development Board (TDB), Dr. Rajiv Sharma, Executive Director, Indo-US Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF), Prof. Baba Shiv, Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB).
Shri. Madan Mohan Reddy, Managing Director of SunGen Solar has been selected to deliver the speech regarding the innovation of Solar Dish @ Cosmos Club, a prestigious one where 3 U.S. Presidents, 2 U.S. Vice Presidents, a dozen Supreme Court justices, 32 Nobel Prize winners, 56 Pulitzer Prize winners were the members. Election to membership in the Cosmos Club honors persons deemed to have “done meritorious original work in science, literature, or the arts, or… recognized as distinguished in a learned profession or in public service.
Our Solar Dish has been selected for the prestigious 100th Indian Science Congress held in Kolkata for exhibiting the Innovation on behalf of Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR), Govt. of India. We have received much appreciation from eminent personalitites covering Padma Vibhusan awardee Dr. R.A.Mashelkar, former Director General of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), Prof. Samir K. Brahmachari, Former Director General of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) and Former Secretary, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Government of India.
“Technopreneur Promotion Program (TePP)” is run by the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research to promote innovation and to promote individual innovators to become technology -based entrepreneurs (Technopreneurs). Shri. Madan Mohan Reddy, Managind Director of SunGen Solar has been selected under this program for the development of low specific-cost solar parabolic dish concentrator system. Under this program, he received the financial assistance from DSIR and the technical assistance from the eminent Scientists of Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-CMERI), Durgapur. Upon successful completion of Proof-of-Concept model by testing a 2m diameter prototype solar dish, we moved for building the larger 12m diameter system.
